In full accordance with Swedish tradition, we woke Kajsa up on the morning of her birthday singing "Vi gratulerar..." Luke was excited to see her open the gift he'd made for her in wood shop class. A small play house with a cut-out door painted Kajsa's favorite colors. She was very appreciative.

We moved to the dining room table for more gift opening.

Luke watches as Kajsa unwraps a new lunchbox.

Her she is modeling a scarf Mama made for her and a new very soft coat. (This morning, Dec 4, I found her wearing the coat and nothing else.)

At school with her buddy Annika.

Queen for a day at school.

Tina with the birthday cake.

Annika, Kajsa, and Mormor, opening gifts at the party.

This birthday girl loves her sweets.

The theme for her party was that we'd made our own movie theatre (or biohus, in Swedish "movie house"). The entrance is blocked off for now and the concession stand is ready. The guests upon arriving would be busy making their own wallets and play money to buy goodies at the concession stand before watching the movie ("G-Force").
The guests also got to decorate their own gingerbread cookies as well.

Crowded into the bedroom, checking out the Pet Shop and Lego toys.

I organized a game of "Put the tail on the hairy pig" (my version of Pin the tail on the donkey). Pictured: Kajsa, me, Caterina.

Caterina places her pig tail. You can just make out Kajsa's tail sticking on the pig's hind hooves. ("Hårig gris" is Swedish for hairy pig. Yes, I drew this.)

The movie is in full swing. Soda was spilled at least three times. A good time was had by all. Kajsa said afterwards that it was the best birthday party ever.
